William Bradford (1590-1657)

 



William Bradford was an English Puritan separatist originally from Yorkshire, England.  His parents were William Bradford and Alice Briggs.  He later moved to Leiden, Holland to escape religious persecution.  In 1620, he emigrated to the Plymouth Colony in America as one of 102 passengers (and 40 crew members) on the Mayflower.  The Mayflower landed near Cape Cod on November 11, 1620, and Plymouth Bay on December 20, 1620.  He was one of the first to sign the Mayflower Compact governing document.  He served as Governor of the Plymouth Colony between 1621 and 1657,  Plymouth Colony was the first permanent colony in New England.  He wrote a journal called Of Plymouth Plantation, 1620-47.  He was part of an exploring party when they settled in Plymouth Bay, Massachusetts.  Upon his return to the ship, he learned that his wife, Dorothy (May) Bardford fell overboard and drowned.  On August 14, 1623,he married Alice (Carpenter) Southworth in Plymouth.  She arrived on the ship Anne a few weeks earlier.  Her parents were Alexander and Priscilla Carpenter.  William Bradford and Alice had 3 children: William, Mercy, and Joseph.  William Bradford died at the age of 68.

My parents were William Raymond Wall and Bobbie L. Brown.  My grandparents were Connie C. Wall (1887-1972) and Zela Verne Metcalf (1886-1954).  My great grandparents were Henry Kanaga Metcalf (1852-1900)  and Ella L Robinson (1855-1892).  My 2nd great grandparents were Francis Metcalf, Jr (1818-1863) and Ophelia Matilda Kellogg (1818-1898).  My 3rd great grandparents were Chauncey Kellogg (1790-1885) and Helen Howe (1793-1880).  My 4th great grand parents were Helmont Kellogg (1762-1848) and Susanna Moore (1763-1840).  My 5th great grandparents were Samuel Kellogg (1718-1770) and Mary Steele (1721-1812).  My 6th great grandparents were Ebenezer Bradford Steele (1695-1747) and Susanna Merrill (1700-1746).  My 7th great grandparents were John Steele (1660-1698) and Melatiah Bradford (1664-1739).  My 8th great grandparents were William Bradford, Jr (1624-1703) and Alice Richards (1627-1671).  My 9th great grandparents were William Bradford (1590-1657) and Alice Anne Carpenter (1590-1670).


Besides myself, William Bradford's descendants include Noah Webster, Julia Child, Alec Baldwin, Ambrose Bierce, George Eastman, Clint Eastwood, Sally Field, Hugh Hefner, John Lithgow, Christopher Reeve, Benjamin Spock, Adlai Stevenson, and Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist.

Wall's Jobs and Occupations

  I've had a few different jobs and tasks over the years.  Here is a list of some of them. In the mid 1960s, I earned money by picking berries and other crops in Washington State during the summer. In 1968, I worked with the Washington State Department of Public Assistance in Tacoma, cleaning up areas of the city. L3Harris

  L3Harris Technologies, formerly Harris Corporation, was founded as an automatic press company in 1895.   The founder was Alfred S. Harris of Niles, Ohio.   For the next 60 years, they developed lithographic processes and printing presses.   In 1955, the company acquired the typesetting company called Intertype Corporation.   In 1962, the company merged with Radiation Inc of Melbourne, Florida.   Radiation Inc developed antennas and integrated circuits for the space program.   In 1978, the company headquarters moved from Cleveland to Melbourne, Florida.   In 2015, the company purchases Exelis Inc.    On June 19, 2019 Harris Corporation merged with L-3 Technologies, and the new company was called L3Harris Technologies, Inc.  In March 1997, a former civil servant (Izzy Rodriquez) had left San Antonio and Kelly AFB and went to work for Harris.   On March 30, I was recruited to work at Harris on information security and was invited to Harris for interviews.     At the time, I was do
